During the 7th round of the European Youth Chess Championship 2018 in Riga a mobile phone was found by an arbiter at the toilet designed for the players. After an investigation the arbiters have found an owner of the mobile. When he has finished his game he was invited to the arbiter’s room together with a Chief of Delegation to submit an explanation. After a hearing the Chief Arbiter decided to announce his game from the round no 7 as a lost for him and exclude him from the tournament. He will be also excluded from the final ranking of the tournament and all his games will be considered as a loss, but the score for the opponent remain unchanged (with the exceptions for the opponent from round no 7). The case will be reported by the Chief Arbiter to ECU, as well as to FIDE.
